In the Garden of Eden, the Bible mentions four rivers that flowed out of the garden to water it. These rivers are described in Genesis 2:10-14:
- Pishon – This river is said to flow around the land of Havilah, where there is gold, aromatic resin, and onyx stones (Genesis 2:11).
- Gihon – This river is said to flow around the land of Cush (Genesis 2:13).
- Tigris – The Tigris river is mentioned as flowing east of Assyria (Genesis 2:14).
- Euphrates – The Euphrates river is the fourth and most well-known river mentioned, flowing along with the Tigris (Genesis 2:14).
These four rivers are said to originate from a single source, flowing out of the Garden of Eden to water the earth. While the exact locations of the Pishon and Gihon rivers are uncertain, the Tigris and Euphrates rivers are still known today and flow through the modern-day Middle East.
